Sacrifice
Dear Diary,
As I wandered through the labyrinthine corridors of the party, I couldn’t shake the feeling of being lost in a dark, ancient fortress. The walls seemed to shift and change, disorienting me until I was unsure of my surroundings.
After what felt like hours of aimless wandering, I heard faint whispers emanating from behind a nearby door. Curiosity piqued, I pressed my ear against the door, only for it to swing open unexpectedly, inviting me into its depths.
Stepping through the threshold, I found myself back in the same party room I had been in earlier. However, the atmosphere had shifted dramatically. Instead of the bustling activity I had witnessed before, the room was now filled with people seated calmly, their expressions serene.
To my astonishment, I spotted my father seated upon a throne, a sight that filled me with both joy and confusion. Relief flooded through me at the sight of my parents alive and well, and I felt an overwhelming urge to rush to their side.
However, before I could take a single step, Lilith appeared by my side, her hand gently clasping mine. With a solemn nod, she silently conveyed a message of caution, guiding me away from the scene unfolding before us.
Confusion swirled within me as I followed Lilith through the transformed party room, my mind reeling with questions and uncertainties. What mysteries lay behind the facade of this surreal gathering? And why did Lilith seem to understand the gravity of the situation when I did not?
As we made our way through the room, I couldn’t shake the feeling that I had stumbled upon something far beyond my understanding, something that held the key to unraveling the secrets of the world around me.
I can barely find the words to describe the events that unfolded at the magus meet. The grand hall was filled with an air of excitement and anticipation as the kings and queens were introduced by Minister Eurus Noctifer. King Benjamin, King Arthur Black, Queen Isadora Darius, and King Cedric Gryknight, the new added kings of arcane world, stood before us, their regal presence commanding attention. I watched in awe as they took oath, their hands placed upon a sacred scripture that seemed to emanate with an otherworldly energy. It was as if they were binding themselves to some unseen force, making a pact that sent shivers down my spine.
Then, with a flourish, the shrouded cloth covering the center of the room was removed, revealing a massive well. But my attention was quickly diverted as a chilling scream pierced the air, causing my heart to lurch with fear. I turned to see a dwarf woman being dragged toward the well, her cries for help echoing off the walls of the hall.
Instinctively, I moved to intervene, but Lilith’s voice whispered urgently in my ear, cautioning me to stay back. She warned me that it was a ritual, one that I should not interfere with. Reluctantly, I obeyed, though every fiber of my being screamed for me to do something to stop the madness unfolding before us.
With a sickening thud, the dwarf woman was pushed into the depths of the well, her screams fading into the darkness below. The sound haunted me, echoing in my mind long after the deed was done.
As the ritual concluded, the assembled crowd bowed before the newly appointed rulers , their faces filled with reverence and awe. But I couldn’t bring myself to join them. My heart was heavy with the weight of what I had witnessed, and I struggled to comprehend how such heartlessness could exist in our world.
Then, as if to add to the surrealness of the moment, a voice echoed from the depths of the well, congratulating the new kings. It sent a chill down my spine, leaving me with a sense of unease that lingered long after the ceremony had ended.
